Introduction

Hello!  My name is Shellie Wilson and I have been playing the piano since I could reach my hands to the keys.  I took from a variety of teachers as a youth and had many opportunities to preform with choirs and other vocal performing groups.

I taught elementary school general music, led 5th and 6th grade choir and accompanied youth choirs for several years.  I have taught privately for 10 years and enjoyed working with students one on one.
Piano has enriched my life and provided me with many opportunities both by way of employment and creating joy.

Policies, Procedures and Pricing

September - May

$60 a month; once a week for 30 minutes.  This is based loosely on a four-times a month schedule.  Some months, there will be an extra lesson while others might only have three lessons.  I have found it to generally average out and that it is much easier for billing purposes to charge the same rate monthly.  

I will do my best to accommodate one make-up lesson per month for illness or other conflicts if notified 24 hours in advance.

June - August

$45 a month; three weeks per month to allow for travel and recreation.  Otherwise, all policies and procedures remain the same.  Students taking lessons in the summer will be given priority for Fall time slots.  

Teaching Times for Fall/Winter Session

Tuesday mornings: 7:15 -7:45 AM and 7:45 - 8:15 AM

Wednesday afternoons: 4:00 - 4:30 PM, 4:30 -5:00 PM, 5:00 - 5:30 PM, 5:30 - 6:00 PM

Thursday evenings: 6:00 - 6:30 PM, 6:30 -7:00 PM, 7:00 - 7:30 PM, 7:30 - 8:00 PM

Materials
Please bring a 1" three-ring binder for assignments and notes.
I teach from the Bastien method, but if students are transferring from another teacher, I'm happy to finish their current level in the books they have been using.  Other books including religious and choir are supplemented and encouraged.
